SAAFMedia 107 is an engineered media composed of an equal volumetric mix of two components: SAAFMedia 101AC (pelletized activated carbon) and SAAFMedia 103SF (spherical, porous activated alumina).

Function and Process

SAAFMedia 107 efficiently removes gaseous contaminants through a combined process of adsorption, absorption, and chemical reaction.

  • The SAAFMedia 103SF component is made of activated alumina and binders, and is uniformly impregnated with potassium permanganate during formation. This strong impregnant allows the media to use chemisorption—a process where the contaminant gas is trapped, oxidized, and converted into harmless solids inside the pellet, preventing desorption.

  • The SAAFMedia 101AC component, made from high-quality virgin activated carbon, provides optimal adsorption for various gaseous contaminants.
